PE5010 capacitive sensing IC from Productivity Engineering
The PE5010 is an integrated circuit for sensor signal conditioning for capacitive sensors, like accelerometer MEMS, pressure sensors or humidity sensors. It can also be used for touch detection in mechanical button replacements.
The circuit offers two channels, both supporting single-ended or differential measurements. The PE5010 should be used in conjunction with a micro controller to provide data storage or data conditioning.
It features a 12 Bit Sigma-Delta converter, internal clock generation and auto calibration and an SPI for data communication. The PE5010 can detect capacitance changes from single-ended capacitors in a range of ±4pF with a resolution of 2fF. Changes in differential sensors can be detected in a range of ±2pF with a resolution of 1fF. Samples and an evaluation kit are available and can be ordered online.
