KSW Microtec at Cartes 2010
KSW Microtec AG, one of the world’s leading suppliers of RFID components and inlays for secure ID cards, eDocuments and payment stickers to enhance smart phone applications, is showcasing its wide-ranging solutions in secure prelaminate technologies for high-end access control and security in eGovernment, ePayment and eTicketing, at Cartes and IDentification 2010 in Paris, from December 7th to 9th.
Having achieved a significantly increased presence in the ID security marketplace in eGovernment, transport and enterprise sectors over the last year, KSW is reinforcing this with an all new 50 square meter stand at Cartes, with live demonstrations and meeting opportunities for customers and industry partners.
One of the highlights this year is KSW’s new mobile phone sticker for use in ePayment, eTicketing and loyalty, which supports the sustainable trend to merge daily life applications into one electronic device. This innovation is a highly flexible solution for quick and secure adherence to any smart phone or other device. As an alternative form factor to a contactless card, it offers all the data transfer functionality of a card anytime and anywhere - bringing more mobility to users on just one handset with a smart and innovative RFID technology.
Thinlam, KSW’s generation of thinnest RFID prelaminates commonly used in the manufacture of government ID documents, driver’s licenses and identity cards, is another product expected to draw considerable interest. Having been introduced over the last 12 months, Thinlam has seen broad adoption in key sectors, particularly eGovernment. It is suited to all applications involving the secure manufacture of any contactless card - including eID, ePayment and highly secure access control.
The company was also accredited during 2010 with MasterCard Specialized Vendor Certification, as well as the MasterCard CQM certificate, which has furthermore established KSW as a global player in the ePayment market. These certifications underpin KSW’s secure manufacture of inlays for contactless ID cards, in Germany specifically for its Thinlam and mobile phone sticker products. The new products are complemented by a well-established and widely adopted range of inlays and prelaminates offering optimum security features for KSW’s asset management customers in a number of sectors.
