ASFINAG, the Austrian motorway company, manages the entire Austrian motorway and expressway network. ASFINAG is responsible for the planning, financing, building, maintenance and operation of almost 2 100 kilometres of roads. They have over 80 locations (6 000 rooms) with about 50 000 assets which need to be accounted for inventory. Today, company inventories are often made by checking paper lists extracted from Enterprise Systems, such as an ERP system. This method is prone to errors and other disruptions, as it involves manually transferring data between an IT system and the employees conducting the inventory.
Martela has launched a system that improves the speed and accuracy of office furniture inventory at customer sites significantly. Our solution provider partner, Vilant Systems implemented the system. The identification solution is based on RFID tags that are attached to office locations and furniture. Confidex Steelwave Micro is used for each office space to identify its location and in furniture that requires small size RFID tag which also can be read from metal surfaces.
Confidex, a leading manufacturer of UHF Gen2 Passive RFID tags, including a versatile portfolio of IT Asset Tags, was selected by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to provide their Steelwave Micro RFID tags to improve asset tracking capabilities for all of the agency’s IT assets. NYSERDA also selected inLogic’s RFTrack.NET asset tracking software and Motorola handheld RFID readers to provide a complete RFID asset tracking solution.
