TraceTracker, a leader in traceability and asset tracking software is using CAEN RFID as supplier of RFID technology for use in a new software solution for the construction industry.  In March of 2011, TraceTracker unveiled a new web-based system called TraceTracker Asset that tracks tools, equipment and vehicles in near real-time. The system follows equipment movements on project sites and between projects using a combination of RFID and GPS technology. Each unit is marked with a simple tag and ID number that can be tracked automatically by radio-based reading devices (RFID) mounted on containers and vehicles. Online interfaces with maps and reports enable users to cut costs by reducing slack time, project delays and theft.

Psion and CAEN RFID unveil Snappy: an UHF-RFID snap-on for the Ikôn handheld computer

Psion, a global provider of mobile computing solutions, and CAEN RFID, a leading European supplier of UHF RFID products, launched Snappy, a new UHF RFID reader with an integrated antenna. Developed by CAEN RFID for short range applications, the device snaps on to the bottom of the Ikôn and provides it with UHF RFID read and write capabilities from a distance of up to 50 centimetres. The Snappy reader is powered and controlled directly by the Ikôn, allowing the device to read of EPC Class1 Gen2 UHF RFID tags.
