PE has developed a new mixed signal ASIC in XFAB XH018 180nm technology within a record time of 6 months from start to tapeout. The first silicon was fully functional and runs application software on the embedded 32bit processor. The digital part has been developed in very close cooperation with another local design service provider, a clear competitive advantage here in the “Silicon Saxony” region. The ASIC contains interfaces like PS2 Master, I²C , SPI, a lot of “glue logic”, embedded Flash memory as well as SRAM. In our new application note “HID compatible PC Keyboard” we explain to you how easy it can be to develop a capacitive keyboard around the PE5004 sensor signal conditioner IC. Due to its capability to address up to 100 sensor signals virtually simultaneously you can design a multi-functional touch keyboard with only a few components.
In certain applications it is desirable that transponders with integrated temperature sensor can work supplied by the UHF-field only and a battery is not required. Under such conditions no maintenance will be necessary and the temperature range is not limited by the environmental limitations of the battery.
The PE5010 is an integrated circuit for sensor signal conditioning for capacitive sensors, like accelerometer MEMS, pressure sensors or humidity sensors. It can also be used for touch detection in mechanical button replacements.
